We're answering your FAQs about The Big Dipper!
What does a ticket include?
Your ticket includes lunch, two drinks, a fabulous gift bag, and most importantly - entry to a fat community event with a poolside fashion show, an amazing DJ, activations from our generous sponsors, and pop-up shopping - including The Plus Bus on site! There will be alcohol and food for purchase and plenty of water!
Where is the party?
The party will be in Encino. The full address will be provided closer to the event to everyone that has purchased a ticket. Keep an eye on your email, and make sure we don’t end up in your SPAM! We will be sending the party address out by Friday!
Is there parking?
There is valet and limited street parking available. We will be providing free valet for all carpools. Otherwise, it's $20. Please bring cash, as this will help us speed through the check-in process. In a pinch, you can also Venmo @theplusbus or Zelle theplusbus@gmail.com. We also highly recommend and prefer that you ride share if you plan on drinking!
What should I bring?
We recommend bringing a swimsuit, a large towel or blanket to sit on, sunscreen & an umbrella, or a hat! The property has lots of shady areas and umbrellas, but we want everyone to be as comfortable as possible!
Can I bring my skinny friend?
Yes! We love our fat allies! :)
Can I come alone?
Of course! We hope you'll walk away with tons of new fat friends and memories!
How deep is the pool?
The pool is a 100-person wading pool with plenty of room for you and your friends to chill in heavenly fat babe bliss! No diving is allowed.
Are the stores open?
Both of our stores (the boutique on
York and
Community by TPB will be closed! We will have tons of plus-size vendors popping up at the pool party in addition to merchandise from our stores for a unique shopping experience, so we hope you'll join us!
Can I bring my own food/drinks?
We will have plenty of food and drinks available for everyone. No outside food or drinks will be allowed. Please contact us if you have any severe dietary restrictions/allergies.
What's the bathroom situation?
There will be multiple all-gender bathrooms available on site. Please note that they will require you to walk up 2-3 stairs.
Some notes on accessibility: The Big Dipper is located on a beautiful, sprawling estate in Encino. This is a private home with a beautiful lawn and huge pool. From valet, you will be required to walk about 50 steps (all flat ground) to our welcome area, where you will receive a drink and gift bag!
Should I bring cash?
Bring some singles and fives to tip your bartenders and valet! They’ll be working hard in the heat, and it will be very appreciated! Our vendors will also be accepting various forms of payment via credit card, Venmo, and Zelle.
